Role Description

As an ALDI Transportation Supervisor, you serve as the direct operational leader managing daily fleet dispatch, commercial drivers, route performance, and yard operations at our regional distribution center. You oversee active driver dispatching, monitor real-time vehicle telematics, ensure DOT compliance, and resolve delivery delays or breakdown incidents on the road. Working closely with fleet managers and store managers, the Transportation Supervisor ensures that store delivery schedules are met efficiently while maintaining high driver safety standards. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site leadership presence at the distribution facility (zero remote availability).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily driver dispatch operations, assigning store delivery routes and verifying tractor-trailer availability.
• Monitor real-time fleet telematics, tracking route completion, driver HOS compliance, and delivery delays.
• Conduct driver safety briefings, telematics audits, route efficiency reviews, and accident investigations.
• Manage yard hostler movements, dock door assignments, and trailer staging priorities with warehouse leads.
• Handle roadside assistance calls, dispatching repair vendors or backup tractors for breakdown incidents.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and internal cold-chain transport standards.
• Provide continuous coaching, performance evaluations, and onboarding for commercial drivers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience in commercial transportation, dispatch, or fleet operations.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, commercial driver HOS, and electronic logging devices (ELD).
• Excellent communication, leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
• Valid Class A CDL preferred but not required.

Job Type & Schedule
